I’m not one to usually blog on a Saturday. But 1) Ishu thought it’d be fun behavior to wake up at 5am and 2) it’s a SPECIAL DAY for EatTeachBlog.
10 years ago, I published my first post on WordPress.
10 years ago, I had just graduated from my Masters program and wanted to channel some of that summer energy into a project. I remember laying belly-down on my parents’ living room floor, publishing this very first post.
And, since then, this blog has been my constant companion.
Sometimes I used it to share my random weekly confessions. During one short phase in Tennessee, I attempted to monetize this thing. And, for a while, I resented Eat Teach Blog for not being so fun for me anymore. (Glad we moved on from that phase). I also used it to share quick and easy recipes (oh, those pictures are so funny and blurry now).
But, in recent years, it’s been a little bit of a tracker for Ishu’s development. All the big and little milestones he’s hit.
It’s been around longer than Ishu. Longer than ANKUR was even an idea in my brain. It’s been around for longer than my teaching career. Longer than any clothes I own (mostly ’cause those don’t fit anymore, y’know?).
It’s just been here. All along. My fun little sidekick “project” that I started.
And I don’t see an end in sight.
It’s one of the things I’m most proud of. The thing I’ve been most consistent about. The thing that makes me really, really happy.
And, today, it turns 10.
Happy birthday, Eat Teach Blog. Thanks for going through all these phases of life with me.
